What is Podiatry?
Podiatrists are medical specialists who help people with problems that affect their feet or lower legs. They can treat injuries as well as complications from ongoing health issues like diabetes. You might hear them called a foot doctor, podiatric physician ,or doctor of podiatric medicine. A podiatric surgeon is a podiatrist who has extensive post-graduate training in foot surgery. Podiatrists treat heel pain (plantar fasciitis), toenail fungus, ulcers, warts, bunions, hammertoes, gait abnormalities, diabetic foot care, and sports injuries.
